Welcome to the St. Mary's, Howth website.

Christmas in St Mary's

This is always a very special time in Howth Parish

We begin with the Sunday School Nativity on Sunday 11th at 11:00.  This is pepared by the Sunday School team and provides a lovely start to our Christmas Celebrations.

Then on Sunday 18th at 7:00pm the Choir leads us in our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.  This is followed by refreshments in the Hall after th Service.

On Christmas Eve we have our midnight communion beginning at 11:00 taking us through into Christmas morning itself.

On Christmas Day we have a simple communion service at 8:30.

At 10:00 we have our Family Service.  This short service lasts about 35 minutes and everyone, young and old, are warmly invited.  Children are invited to bring along one of their presents (preferably a quiet one!) This is a lovely Family event and the Church is always full and makes a lovely start to the family's Christmas Day Celebrations.

Our Services round off with a communion service at 11:00.

Entertainthe 3rd world

You are invited to donate the cost of one place at your Christmas table to the 3rd world.  Simply place the amount in a Bishops Appeal Envelope and put it on the plate at one of our Christmas Servies

Please note that all who are communicant members of their own Church are always welcome to fully participate in our Communion Services.

Come and join us on Chritmas Day - you will be very welcome.

Welcome to  St Mary's Parish Church website.  We hope as you browse through the site you will get a taste of the Parish, its various activities and history.  St Mary's is a Parish within the Church of Ireland Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough and a member of the world wide Anglican Communion.  The Parish is situated at the northern tip of Dublin Bay. Howth was at one time a small fishing village but is now a busy suburb of Dublin. St Mary's Parish Church is  situated at the entrance to the grounds of Howth Castle and Deerpark, less than five minutes walk from the Howth DART Station.

We are a community of some 300 families involved in a wide range of occupations and we offer a warm welcome to visitors and people moving into the area.  St Mary's is currently taking part in the Church of Ireland Parish Development Programme, ‘Church 21' and we are anxious to develop our ministry to families and young people.  We see ourselves as a family in which all members, young and not so young have a place and a contribution to make to the life and worship of the Parish as we seek to encourage one another in our faith.  I would very much identify with a definition of the Church as ‘as community of friends drawn together by the friendship of Jesus.'  Our worship reflects the variety of tastes within the Parish with a Family Service once a month as well as the more traditional services.  There is a thriving Sunday School and the Parish has recently appointed a professional Youth Worker who has developed a Youth Club that meets on a Tuesday night (6th Class of National School) and a club for older ones that meets on a Sunday night.

You have visited our website - why not come and join us one Sunday?  You will be assured of a warm welcome as you come to share in our worship and also over a cup of coffee after our main morning service.

We look forward to seeing you.
